Senstar-Stellar has re-introduced Repels, its portable, re-deployable perimeter intrusion detection security system for end users. The system operates much like a radar fence, creating an invisible electromagnetic detection zone along the path of two parallel wires that are supported by poles driven into the ground.
Designed specifically for perimeter protection applications, the system has none of the limitations associated with line-of-sight sensors. It can be installed in any terrain, and is able to handle perimeters of any shape (working as well on hills, in wooded areas and around corners as it does in flat, straight applications).
In addition to military applications, commercial applications of Repels include the protection of construction sites, event security, VIP protection, vehicle security, outdoor exhibit or trade show protection, back-up security for primary sensors and various law enforcement uses.
One unit protects a perimeter of up to 100 metres. Multiple units may be linked to cover longer distances. When the cables are mounted 15 cm and 1.2 metres above ground, the resulting detection field is (typically) 2 metres wide – centred on the plane of the cables – and 2 metres high.
Improvements to the updated version of Repels also include enhanced RF immunity to interfering signals and the doubling of operational battery life.
