Guidance is designed to help clients understand the benefits of good practice

RICS has launched a range of new Facilities Management standards.

The guidance is designed to help clients understand how good FM practice can help save clients money.

The standards are contained in the RICS’ White Book, and more guidance will be issued in the next 12 months.

Designed for chartered FM surveyors, the good practice standards cover the following areas: strategy, sourcing, operational, review and continuous development and change management.

The standards were hailed a milestone by Ian Brodie, chair of the facilities management executive group at RICS.

He said: “A major piece of work has been produced for chartered facilities management surveyors working in the strategic FM field."
