Membership of the building services sector's two principal personnel registration schemes grew in 2005 according to the second site audit conducted by members of the ECA/HVCA Joint Major Contractors' Group (JMCG).
The audit, carried out in October 2005, involved over 13 000 site-based operatives. It revealed that 86% of individuals had an ECS card or the mechanical sector's SKILLcard, compared to 84% in April 2005.
Figures were highest, at 90% (89% in April), for directly employed operatives. Agency labour recorded 85% with cards (82% in April); staff personnel 86% (79%); and subcontractors 80% (77%).
