The arm's-length management organisations of Rochdale and Kirklees have both won a two-star rating from the Audit Commission – meaning they can access extra funding of £24.2m and £62.5m respectively.
The two bodies join four other first-round ALMO bidders – Derby, Hounslow, Ashfield and Westminster – that met the government inspection requirements for additional funding.
Almost two-thirds of the £300m conditionally allocated to first-round ALMOs has been confirmed.
Inspection results for the remaining two first-round bidders – Wigan and Stockton – will be released later this month.
Inspections of the 13 second-round ALMOs will start in April.
