Bob Rowan, founder of security systems integrator Pointer, has retired after a career spanning 30 years.
He founded Pointer in 1972 and watched it grow from a small installer of domestic and commercial alarms in Scotland to a complex integrated security systems specialist with international interests.

Last year Bob was appointed vice chairman of the NSI, having been involved with training and regulation as a council member of NACOSS since 1990. He was also a chairman of SITO since 1994.

Bob will maintain a part time consultancy as non-executive chairman at Pointer, while pursuing other interests in golf and fishing. Meanwhile, Sandy Rowan takes over as managing director.
