One of England’s largest housing associations is about to move across the country.
Sanctuary Housing Association, which manages 34,000 homes, will shift its headquarters from Hertfordshire to Worcester in January.

A new building is already operating with a skeleton staff, ready for the final move.

The association says staff housing costs and the problem of recruiting close to London made the move attractive. The association outgrew its current offices but found the cost of relocating within the South-east prohibitive, as well as traffic congestion and high operating costs.

All 100 headquarters staff have been asked to join the move to the western market town. Support packages are on offer both to those moving and those opting to stay.

Chief executive David Bennett said: “We looked at alternative locations and finally chose Worcester, an attractive area that offers low operating and housing costs, less congestion, and good links with the rest of our organisation.”
