Sarah Webb is to take over from John Perry as policy director at the Chartered Institute of Housing in March next year
Webb is head of the government’s community housing taskforce. She has previously been head of housing strategy at Birmingham council, a senior consultant at DTZ Pieda Consulting and director of Southside Housing Association in Glasgow.

CIH chief executive David Butler said: “We will be sorry to see John leave but I am looking forward to working with Sarah in developing and promoting the institute’s policy agenda.”

Mike Gahagan, director of housing at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, added: “Sarah has been instrumental in assuring the taskforce provides a valuable service to local authorities and tenants. I’m sure that, based on the foundations that Sarah has laid, the community housing taskforce will go from strength to strength.”

Webb will continue at the ODPM until March.
