Savills is for the first time to tout for project management business outside the existing book of clients that use its agents to clinch property deals.

Sean Monie, director, said: “We are bidding for 500m to 750m sq ft of fit-out. If we win it we will need to hire at least three people in the next year.” The PM team is currently 8-strong.

In spring, the firm poached marketing expert Stephen Headley from rival property agent Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker.

Monie said: “Most of our work is fed via the agency team. We have brought in Headley as business development director to get business from other sources.”

Headley said: “The reputation of the Savills team and our brand name means we have a platform to go forward in the open market.”
