A consortium comprising Skanska and the PFI Infrastructure Company is preferred bidder on a 30-year, £70 million Public Private Partnership to design, build, finance and operate eight new primary schools for Midlothian Council in Scotland.

The first two schools are due to be completed for the start of the new academic year in August 2006; all eight are scheduled to complete by February 2007. Work began on site in October 2005.
