A new fire rated point fixing system for Pyran S means that panels of fire resistant glass can now be butt-jointed to create almost limitless ‘walls’ of glass without glazing bars, affording 30 minutes fire integrity.

Schott’s Pyran S borosilicate glass is the ideal material for this structural application due to its reduced thermal expansion and inherent resistance to fire. The glass panels are supported with specially modified stainless steel brackets which are fixed to the glass. These provide support even during the extreme movements caused in a fire situation.
