Friday, 2 June 2006 saw the Scottish region’s Young Engineers Section host their annual dinner.

The event was held in Glasgow’s Bar Budda and those who attended enjoyed the traditional informal atmosphere and the chance to socialise with fellow engineers.

Over 50 young engineers from all over the Scottish region were present and their feedback at the end of the evening was very positive. The Dinner also signalled the end of Michael Gribben’s tenure as YE chairman in Scotland; Michael took the opportunity to wish the best of luck to Gerry Brannigan, who takes over the post for the next two years.

The night, which kicked off at 6pm, saw the inaugural CIBSEYE Bacardi Boat Race won by Michael’s team in a chair versus vice chair duel.

The YE Committee – Michael, Gerry, David, Barry, Teres and Stuart – would like to thank everyone who came along and contributed to a great evening. They would also like to thank the sponsors of the event, who were BSP Sales, Grundfos, Hevac, Holophane and Luxmate. The committee is looking forward to next year’s event in Edinburgh.
