Securicor Cash Services has announced “a significant investment” in an innovative e-learning system. The new staff training and development solution is currently being piloted with a view to full implementation throughout the company’s Cash Services network – taking in over 50 branches – come this September (see this month’s ‘Career Development’ section on p56 for further information).

According to Securicor, the system offers the potential to provide training for over 6,000 members of staff.

The aim of the e-learning system is to improve the performance and service levels of both individuals and the company as a whole. In practice, each branch is being allocated a dedicated work station where officers can keep track of their own personal development. Access to learning materials is available round-the-clock, such that training can be accommodated in line with shift patterns.

Some of the training will be set in a ‘virtual branch’, where employees will be able to select relevant activities from their own department. Initially, the training will focus on ‘hard’ skills, including the use of computerised systems.
