SECURICOR HAS AGREED IN principle to buy Dutch security company Randon Beveiliging Beheer from Randstad Holding – at the same time selling its UK recruitment company (Securicor Recruitment Services) on to Randstad.
Securicor will also make a one-off cash payment to Randstad totalling £16.2 million.

Randon is the third largest security outfit in the Netherlands, employing 4,000 staff and posting a turnover of £72.4 million in 2000. It boasts a 15% share of the Netherlands' manned security market, with around 80% of its turnover coming from the provision of commercial guarding services in the corporate, transport, telecoms, Government and event management arenas.

Roger Wiggs, chief executive of Securicor, told SMT: "This deal represents a further step towards our goal of becoming one of the top three global security solutions companies." In the year to 30 September 2000, Securicor Recruitment Services posted a turnover of £72.3 million.
