Securicor chairman Sir Neil Macfarlane has announced that Group turnover for the year to 30 September 2002 stood at £1,400 million – an increase of 23% on 2001.
Pre-tax profits from ongoing businesses rose by 16% to £93 million, while those derived from ongoing security operations rose by a similar percentage to top £85 million.
Securicor Cash Services produced what Macfarlane described as "another strong performance" despite the continued high incidence of attacks on Cash-in-Transit crews. Last year, the security giant opened the second of a national network of supercentres in Manchester with the third – in Belfast – due to open shortly.
Manned security division Securicor Security showed an increased profit in "a highly competitive" UK guarding market. "Foundations are now in place for an integrated security proposition," added Macfarlane.
