Security comes in many forms, from guards on patrol to computer passwords. However, you’d be surprised how easy it is to slip up.

The British Security Industry Association (BSIA) advises businesses to look at all levels of security. Physical measures such as quality locks, doors, safes and fencing are a starting point; followed by intruder alarms and a security patrol to check your premises regularly.

Equipment and property should be marked and registered on a secure database, in case it is stolen. Identity theft and fraud can be guarded against by regularly changing passwords and using a professional information destruction company to deal with paper documents.
