The award recognises Security Installer and BT RedCARE's "outstanding contributions to the security industry" through their joint organisation of the events.
The ACPO Unscrambled campaign raised awareness of the policy which applies to all businesses that use electronic systems.
The forums, which included lively Q&A sessions, were chaired by Alan Hyder, Editor of Security Installer, and on the panel were Inspector Kevin Mann of ACPO, Alex Carmichael of the BSIA, Chris Bridgewood of BT RedCARE and a team of regional installers who gave their individual opinions about the policy.
The events were also attended by the Association of British Insurers and local police representatives.
The Chairman's Award was made at a ceremony which formed part of the British Security Industry Association Annual Luncheon at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
Simon Scott, General Manager, BT RedCARE said: "We are honoured to have won the award…the ACPO Unscrambled forums gave us the opportunity to reach all those in the industry".
Alan Hyder said: "We helped reduce the confusion about the policy and our installer speakers gave their honest opinions about the impact it would have on their businesses. They really made the events."
Three other individuals received Chairman's Awards from David Cowden, BSIA Chairman: For Promoting the Industry: Peter Kimpton, who recently stood down from his position as Chairman of the BSIA Access Control Section and had worked to establish satisfactory training programmes for installers.
For Contribution to the Community: George Allan, Contract Security Options, who has been closely involved with the Jubilee Foundation which aims to educate young people on the dangers of drug abuse.
For Contribution to Training: Steve Walters, Training Manager, Britsafe Security, who has developed a two week training course for Neighbour-hood Wardens.
