The senior management team for the UK manned security business is headed up by managing director David Beaton. Most recently, Beaton was the regional md for Securicor Security in the Americas region, where he assumed responsibility for the cash services business in the US and a number of interests across the Caribbean.

Beaton is a graduate civil engineer who originally joined Securicor back in 1993 as a projects director within the Justice Services arm of the business.

He’ll now be managing the integration of the two manned security businesses in the UK. The combined business boasts an annualised (proforma) turnover in excess of £340 million, employing over 18,000 staff.

Working alongside Beaton will be Doug Hewitson, the former managing director of Securicor Security. Hewitson has been appointed national operations director with responsibility for sector-based markets including retail, mobile patrol and response services, special events, aviation, maritime and rail operations. In addition, Hewitson takes over the management of the combined Group’s national Control Centres and will be responsible for the forthcoming integration programme.

Four operations directors have been appointed. Formerly Group 4 director of response services, Peter Smith takes charge in the City. Graham Butler is the new operations director in the central region. The south is to be covered by Andy Lane, while Vincent Bradbury assumes the post of operations director in the north (and responsibility for the merged company’s Northern Ireland arm).

Completing the management team are David Foy (sales director), Douglas Greenwell (marketing director), Richard Soper (strategic accounts director), Nick Bettes (IT director) and human resources director Liz Ogden.
