Mace's quantity surveying arm Sense Cost Consultancy is planning to grow its staff by 25% during 2006.

The new division is also poised to move to new premises away from the Mace HQ in Camden.

Chris Goldthorpe, managing director of Sense, said he would like to increase the numbers in his team from 40 to 50 people during the year.

He said he was hiring four people this month. They will be based in London and Manchester. For the first time a Sense team member will also be based in Birmingham.

In London the Sense HQ is moving to an office in Southwark, away from Mace's main office at 64 Pratt Street, NW1.

Sense opened an office in Edinburgh in November 2005 and an office in Manchester in January 2005. The division was launched in July 2004 in London.
