Shelter director Chris Holmes is to quit at the end of this month after seven years in office.
A Shelter statement said that Holmes intends to continue to work in housing, homelessness and social policy issues. Holmes said: “I have greatly enjoyed my time at Shelter and wish it continued success in carrying out its worthwhile work.”

The charity’s senior management team will run the organisation until a new director is appointed. An interim director will be named shortly.

Chair Peter Robson said Shelter had trebled its income under Holmes and now had a turnover of £30m.
