With seminars galore to attend, time for visiting the exhibitor stands must be carefully planned. Here are those that no contractor should miss.

    Square D will be showcasing its complete portfolio of domestic products. These range from the Qwikline II suite of electrical consumer units to the IHC (Intelligent Home Control) system.

    The IHC products focus on energy efficiency and occupier comfort, with a single system capable of covering safety, security and control.

    Scolmore International

    Scolmore will be launching its Polar range of electrical accessories at Interbuild.

    The latest additions to its Click accessories series will also be on display; these include the recently launched modular plate switches. Expansions to the Click lighting range include spotlights, downlighters and recessed fittings.

    If you're an England football fan, make sure that you visit to try your luck in the daily prize draw – you can win official 2002 World Cup shirts and Click footballs.

    Erico Europa (GB)

    Erico Europa's fixings division is showing a range of time-saving and cost-effective fixings and supports for m&e and datacom installations.

    The firm's new Cat 32 CM50 batwing clip will be heavily featured in the display. This can be used for single and multiple configurations on new and existing projects. It can support lv, data and telecommunication cables.

    Barnes Computing/Estimation

    The latest products from Barnes Computing and sister company Estimation can be found side by side on this stand in Hall 2.

    Barnes will be highlighting B-Price, a computerised service that lets users price from discounted materials' lists.

    Estimation will be launching a new range of estimating, procurement, contract management, costing and accounts software, plus a new electronic material pricing service for the m&e sectors.

    Chauvin Arnoux
    Stand 2B126

    Chauvin Arnoux is introducing the Qualistar three-phase, four-wire power quality analyser at Interbuild.

    The Qualistar can be used for comprehensive testing of electrical networks.

    Wieland Electric
    Stand 2D120

    The LynxPlus, HomeLynx, BusLynx and MetaLynx modular wiring systems are the focus of Wieland's stand.

    The firm has expanded the range of colours and mechanical codings for its GST range of connectors for European compatibility and this will be reflected by the products on show.

    Also on display will be its IEC-standard gesis CON connectors range; a 20 A wiring system for small power distribution; and Wieland's European Installation Bus family.

    Batt Cables

    The Batt Networks division of Batt Cables will be launching the Sen5e structured cabling system at Interbuild. The firm is offering free training in the use of Sen5e to electrical contractors new to data installation. The product comes with a 25-year warranty.

    A single mode fibre cable will also be launched this year. This is suitable for long distance telecommunication links.

    Batt Cables' Drincable, IDH Guardian and PUR Coil cables will also be on display at the show.

    FLUKE
    Stand 2C175

    Fluke will be showing a wide range of rugged, hand-held test tools that are suitable for use by electrical contractors.

    Many of the products that will be on display are recent to the market. These include the 110 Series, 170 Series and 180 Series of true rms digital multimeters.

    The firm's latest ac and dc current-measuring clamp meters, the Fluke 321 and 322 will also be on show. Plus, look out for special, limited term, money-saving offers on the professional electricians' toolkit, the Fluke Electrical Toolbox.

    ECA

    The ECA is continuing with its attempts to improve industry safety with a stand themed 'Making an electrical world safe'.

    Guidance and advice will be available on employers' legal obligations to provide safe electrical installations and equipment. There will also be free guidance notes on offer; these provide summary information on the legislation and regulations that affect electrical contractors.

    Robin

    Visitors to Robin's stand will find its latest 16th Edition testing equipment, PAT testers, continuity testers, environmental monitors and multimeters on display.

    The Robin KTS 1630 Digital Multifunction Tester was designed to suit BS 7671: 2001. A portable unit, it can perform ten function tests, the results of which can be used on the firm's software.

    GET
    Stand 2C110

    GET will debut its Ultimate range of ultra-slim wiring accessories at this year's show. Suitable for new-build and refurbishment, the white-moulded and metal flatplate units can be fitted into standard flush-mounted installation boxes.

    Also on display will be a number of other recent additions to the firm's ranges of wiring accessories, circuit protection equipment, air movement and lighting products.

    Di-Log

    Di-Log will showcase three new product ranges on its stand: Telaris, Pro-Log and a series of voltage and continuity testers.

    The Telaris 16th Edition equipment range complies with BS EN 61557 in terms of instrument performance and user safety. The 9069 Plus Insulation Tester is being displayed for the first time. This tester is said to have many unique features, such as a timer and a limit-setting function.

    The Pro-Log range is also making an exhibition debut. This value-for-money range of instruments includes fuse and cable locators, socket testers, voltage indicators, digital multimeters and digital clamp meters.

    The third part of the stand is Di-Log's 6741 and 6742 voltage and continuity testers.

    Wandsworth Electrical

    The LightSet dimming system from Wandsworth will be launched at the show.

    LightSet can be used to change the levels and concentration of light in a room, creating scenes. Control can be remote via infrared or by manual panel switching.

    The firm's textured, stainless steel Profile range and classic antique finishes will also be on display.

    The Luxmate display will be devoted to the control of lighting and associated building services for energy efficiency and comfort.

    The recently introduced touch screen controller will be featured. This is suited to meeting and conference rooms, and allows users to configure lighting, blinds and air conditioning as required. It includes 20 lighting scenes and password-protection.

    Tridonic
    Stand 2G150

    Tridonic is using Interbuild to launch a new lighting concept designed around its luxControl brand.

    A range of solutions will be on show, including DALI – the industry standard digital addressable lighting interface. This replaces the need for conventional outputs to control individual ballasts or transformers.

    A new dc transformer will also be highlighted at the show, as will a range of led products, released under the brand name powerLED.

    Lutron Electronics
    Stand 2E140

    Lutron will be publicly unveiling its Grafik Integrale lighting control system at Interbuild.

    Grafik Integrale is designed for use in residential and small commercial applications. It offers control without the need for interfaces and features dimming, preset scene selection and programming.

    Also on show will be the Grafik Eye, HomeWorks Interactive Lighting Control System and Telume multiple dimming system.

    JCC Lighting Products

    JCC Lighting Products will be promoting its product portfolio and lighting design service in the Total Lighting Show at this year's Interbuild.

    The portfolio includes over 30 new products, which cover exterior lighting, interior display lighting, interior decorative and track lighting systems.

    Included are the Hi Spot ES111 mains halogen track range, which includes Sylvania's 75 W ES111 lamp. The firm's lighting design service is offered free of charge to all of its customers.

    Exodus

    Exodus will be showing off its Smartswitch wireless switching system for lighting that avoids the need for cabling between the light switch and the light fitting. Instead, it uses FM radio signals between the switch and the fitting for on/off control and dimming.

    The switch can be located in any position within 175 m of the receiver. The receiver is wired to the light fitting to be controlled. Up to 32 switches can be used to control each receiver; switches can control as many receivers as needed.

    Harvard Engineering

    Harvard will be displaying new HID street and amenity lighting ballasts and a mini HID ballast for use with GE's new 20 W and 35 W ceramic metal halide lamps.

    Harvard's new range of radio-controlled electronic ballasts for street lighting can achieve energy cost savings of up to 40% per year. The ballasts give an extended lamp life through constant lamp power control.

    Harvard also provides a full custom design service for ballasts.

    Cooper Lighting and Security

    Cooper Lighting and Security will be showcasing a number of new commercial fluorescent and exterior lighting products.

    Also under demonstration is the firm's new electronic catalogue and the new Cooper Lighting Design System, which can be used to specify mains or emergency lighting.

    The database-driven electronic catalogue provides technical information and installation leaflets on all Crompton Lighting, Menvier and JSB products via a keyword search.

    Siemens

    Siemens has chosen Interbuild to highlight the advances in its range of hvac products.

    The latest developments in controls for boilers, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, domestic appliances and telephones will be featured.

    The main feature to look out for is an articulated lorry that will be fitted out as an interactive kitchen with sensors to control the appliances and services via a mobile telephone. This will be used to give visitors a glimpse of how we may live in the near future.

    The Builder Group

    Vortice

    Vortice is launching its Vario commercial fan on its Interbuild stand.

    The fan is designed for low energy consumption and all materials are recyclable. It has low noise operation and is guaranteed for 30 000 h continuous operation.

    Any daredevils visiting the show can try their luck in the firm's promotional competition for the product. Up for grabs for five people is the chance to learn to become a hang-glider pilot.

    Vent-Axia

    Tomorrow's World presenter Philippa Forrester has been drafted onto the Vent-Axia stand to unveil the firm's new range of energy efficient ventilation products.

    Whole-house heat recovery ventilation systems feature in the form of the new HRE275 and HR200XL units and the established LoWatt range of domestic fans. Also on show, the Intro 600, developed for the hospitality industry, will be displayed for the first time.

    Look out also for the Vent-Axia-sponsored Porsche supercar campaigned in the British GT Championships by Tim Sugden.

    Dimplex

    Dimplex will have its biggest ever presence at Interbuild 2002.

    The firm will showcase new and existing products from a range of over 200 models. These will include a new two-zone central control unit for panel heaters and complete fire suites.

    The products are suitable for domestic and commercial applications. They are backed by a comprehensive service package that includes a free heating design service.

    Heatstore
    Stand 3F170

    Heatstore's ventilation arm, Addvent, is introducing new developments for the commercial and industrial market.

    The Built-In fans used in the pub and restaurant market have been redesigned for simpler installation and come with automatic shutters and remote controller. The In-Duct fans now feature metal cases for higher airflows and the range of Plate Fans has been extended to eight models, again with external grilles and remote controllers.

    Domestic fans have been restyled and the ranges extended, with a Loft Unit being one of the newly introduced products.

    Fotolec Technologies

    Fotolec Technologies will use its stand to demonstrate its recently launched Glass Guard GLS and energy-saving triphosphor shatter-resistant lamps.

    The Glass Guard safety lamps are manufactured with a patented shatter-resistant coating that will contain the explosion fragments and chemicals should the lamp break. The triple-life GLS safety lamp version of Glass Guard was launched in spring for the domestic market.

    Zip Heaters

    Zip will be exhibiting their new range of instant boiling water heaters at Interbuild. On display will be over-sink and under-sink units for the workplace or home.

    Zip will also be featuring its latest range of products providing chilled, filtered drinking water and hot water. A new range of unvented water heating products will be launched at the show.

    Catalogue and web-based firm Direct4Trade will be exhibiting at Interbuild for the first time.

    The firm's ranges cover 28 categories from power tools and safety workwear to electrical and lighting products.

    The newly-published catalogue is available on the stand in the Plant, Tools and Woodworking show (Hall 6).

    Graphisoft UK

    Visitors to Graphisoft's stand will be witness to the first public showing of the firm's 20th anniversary edition of ArchiCAD. ArchiCAD 20AE includes new libraries for building textures and transportation.

    The stand will be themed to illustrate the firm's building design and management software. The latest version of Cymap building services design and calculation sofware will be demonstrated, as will the integration between ArchiCAD and Cymap.

    Manrose Manufacturing

    Manrose Manufacturing is exhibiting at Interbuild for the first time this year.

    The firm will be launching its new Centralised Ducting System (CDS) at the show. This is an efficient and cost-effective form of continuous and controlled domestic ventilation.

    Also being introduced at the show is the Heat 'n Vent 2, a combined heater, fan and light that delivers instant heating combined with efficient ventilation and soft lighting.
