Roofline stockist and door panel manufacturer GAP, now has a total of seven Combilifts, having recently invested in the latest bit of kit for the Nottingham warehouse.
Each machine costs £40,000 taking the total investment to £280,000. Mick Skinner, Depot Co-ordinator explains how the Combilift saves time and money, ‘We carry large stock levels to give our customers what they want, when they want. When a delivery comes in from our suppliers, the Combilift simply picks up the stillage from the wagon and stacks it directly in the warehouse.
‘We don’t have to unload the stillages until the products are ready to be loaded for delivery. So some stock never goes onto the racks and this saves us time loading and unloading. This reduces the time taken to accept deliveries – and associated costs – giving us more time to invest in making the GAP difference to our customers’.
