SITO – the National Training Organisation for the Secure Environment – has joined forces with the University for Industry (UfI) to pilot a number of online training courses for security professionals throughout the UK.
No less than 28 courses have been selected for inclusion following consultation with the industry. They will encompass a range of areas including security management and business skills, customer service training, health and safety and equal opportunities. The scheme has just begun, and runs for the next three months.

Broadening the scope of training courses by offering generic skills training and an alternative learning method, SITO is fully intent on increasing the knowledge base and competencies within the security industry. Managers, officers, administration and general support staff all stand to benefit.

Companies already committed to the project include Securicor Cash Services, the Vision Security Group and the Corps of Commissionaires.
