He says: “This is a very early conceptual sketch of the new entrance building at the Historic Dockyard Chatham. The intention was to convey the completion of the existing sawtooth ridge-line within its industrial landscape. The finished building – with a tall zinc-clad building inserted between two existing historic buildings – remains true to my initial concept sketch. Command of the Oceans has been shortlisted for the 2017 RIBA Stirling prize.”
