Smash the drab: Demolition has started on the Southgore estate in North Leverton, Nottinghamshire, following the transfer of the houses to Longhurst housing association. The estate's 71 houses are to be replaced by 42 homes for rent and shared ownership as part the £3m redevelopment. Tenants have been moved out of their old homes and into temporary housing in the area. The development is due for completion by 2004. In the meantime, tenants will be consulted on renaming their new-look estate.
