South Kilburn New Deal for Communities and the Tenant Participatory Advice Service will attempt to salvage their troubled relationship at a meeting next week.
South Kilburn terminated its contract with TPAS because it said the group had failed to meet its board following an alleged complaint by residents.
South Kilburn would not discuss the nature of the allegation but said more than 50 residents had signed a petition supporting its action.
TPAS was brought in as an impartial adviser for the masterplanning consultation process in South Kilburn.
But it argues that its independent role has not been recognised by South Kilburn. Phil Morgan, TPAS chief executive, said: "TPAS has been sacked for following government policy on involving communities in decisions that affect their lives.
"This is not just about Kilburn – it's about the integrity of independent tenant advisers and the involvement of communities."
