London's Building Centre is running an exhibition and series of seminars called Space
New Urban Housing, exploring the relationship between design, technology and funding in projects such as architect Goddard Manton's Barrier Point, in London Docklands for Barratt Homes (right), Greenwich Millennium Village, and Coin Street. The free exhibition, which highlights design ideas that best exploit space in urban developments, will run from 26 March to 12 May. Four seminars will take place from 2pm-6pm. On Monday 2 April - four urban housing case studies by architects PCKO, Proctor Matthews, Sergison Bates and Howarth Tompkins. Monday 23 April - innovative urban housing by UK architects in Holland and the US. Monday 30 April - a seminar on approaches such as self build and speculative development, and Wednesday 16 May - exploring building technologies such as prefabrication. The events are at the Building Centre, Store Street, London and seminars can be booked by emailing events@buildingcentretrust.org.
