Following its accreditation by UKAS as a product certification body under the ACPO/ABI sector scheme, and as a quality management systems certification body earlier this year, the security systems inspectorate, SSAIB, has announced it will be working with manned services inspectorate, IPSA, to provide product certification schemes for organisations offering services in the manned security sector.
The move is said to be a “logical step” for the SSAIB, which has put in a series of standards to provide the basis of the product certification schemes.
The SSAIB will also be extending its scope as an accredited quality management system certification body to the manned services industry.
By cooperating with IPSA, the SSAIB will be able to provide certification schemes to existing IPSA members and other organisations wishing to use the services of a customer facing certification body.
The SSAIB will be publishing details of its schemes shortly.
