Residents at St James Homes' new Kew Riverside development in west London will able to summon a tailor, arrange a manicure and order groceries through their concierge service.
St James will be outsourcing the role to Total Solutions, which claims it will offer similar services to those found in hotels. The basic service available to buyers of apartments and houses will provide the delivery of bread, milk, newspapers, and dry cleaning, plus the dispatch of small packages within a quarter mile radius. A range of interior services is also available, and these include flower deliveries, plant hire and interior design. Home services include beauty therapy, personal shopping, and style consultancy. The concierge can even arrange art and antiques commissions.

Total Solutions will also deal with chores such as ironing, grocery shopping and dry-cleaning, and will help arrange parties, travel and entertainment. To remind residents of all the services on offer Total Solutions will be printing a monthly newsletter for residents. St James will be using Total Solutions on future developments including the Mosaic apartment scheme in Limehouse, east London. Kew Riverside is a testbed for a number of innovations from St James. The developer is also trialling bathroom pods for houses on the site, and has created a massive sales and marketing suite within the scheme's fitness centre.
