Now could be a good time to conduct an employee satisfaction survey to identify what the problem might be and to let them know that you care about what they think.

If this sounds like an expensive operation for you – and a lucrative operation for some consultant – help is at hand in the form of a DIY survey. HR research consultant Quantify has launched its Employee Satisfaction Survey Research Kit, which comes with a step-by-step manual, a bank of 1,700 questions to choose from, various templates and some tools for analysing the results.

The kit costs £500 plus VAT. But if you don’t want to shell out that much, Quantify also offers a number of free ‘How to’ guides which you can download from its website, including an employee satisfaction survey.
