To meet the demand to fit more goods into its stores, supermarket group Tesco has designed a mezzanine concept using a customised Riegens lighting package.
Riegens’ continuous lighting concept is based on the standard, 300 mm-wide recessed trough used in all Tesco ceiling installations. Its main 1200 mm trough housing includes high frequency controlgear to operate 2 x 54 W colour 4000 K T5 tubes, an aluminium louvre and a seven-core wiring loom.
The loom enables three circuits for switching the lighting to suit variable needs and emergency mode. There is a 300 mm section that includes a wiring loom and a connector for additional luminaires. These are pierced for a pa speaker or factory-fitted with a 35 W gimble fitting from Riegens’ Aspiro range. The system has been fitted in stores in York, Swansea and Cumbernauld.
