Supporting the homeless

I read with interest the article “Are we there yet?” (4 July, page 22) and welcome the focus of your last issue on homelessness.

However, I was disappointed that none of your contributors mentioned the importance of Supporting People, in terms of funding, reviews and strategies.

Our experience as a service provider, and indeed that of other service providers we come into contact with, is that the key to tackling homelessness and providing coherent services over the next few years will be establishing effective links between homelessness and Supporting People strategies. Otherwise, it is all just talk.
