Energy supplier SWALEC is returning to the electrical contracting industry after an absence of almost five years.
SWALEC's original contracting business was sold when it was part of Hyder. The firm is now owned by the Scottish and Southern Energy Group, which has a large contracting division including Southern Electric Contracting and aims to build up business in Wales through SWALEC.

Barry Harvey, SWALEC Contracting's general manager for home services commented: "The domestic market is very promising as there are still many homes in Wales with old, inadequate and sometimes dangerous electrical systems.

"We are not only moving back into domestic contracting, we are also targeting businesses and the public sector," he added.

The company has recruited a new team to develop its domestic and business contracting division.
