T Clarke’s results for the year to 31 December 2004 show profits before tax dropping to £6.88 million (from £8.94 million in 2003) on a turnover up almost 10% to £157 million (£143 million in 2003).
“We predicted that the second half of the year would remain tough, and so it proved, yet we finished the year strongly,” said T Clarke’s chief executive Pat Stanborough.
“Looking forward, we are very confident that we are well positioned to gain from the increase in demand in our core markets in London and the south east,” added Stanborough.
The final dividend went up to 20p, from 19p last year.
