After intensive market research MK has been robust with its floor boxes

MK Electric has extended its Ackermann range with a suite of floor boxes for raised, flush and screeded floors.

The revised Cablelink Plus and Onix Plus range delivers robust, high-load-bearing performance.

MK organised a major redesign to enhance the range when market analysis revealed a number of concerns, including load bearing, robustness, Cat 6 compatibility, installation speed and end-user flexibility.

The new line-up includes the Cablelink Plus Modular for raised floors where individual modules can be moved to provide increased plug-top clearance or greater floor voids.

The Cablelink Plus Single Pan has one to four compartment floor boxes, both 95 and 70 mm deep. The Screed caters for 53-110 mm depths. The Flush System provides good access to cabling, while Onix Plus is for high-load, major-traffic areas such as retail outlets or wet-wash operations.

Load bearing meets the latest legislation (prEN50085-2-2), self-closing lids have been designed in accordance with draft IEC 61534-22, and tougher cord caps that cannot be kicked off are incorporated.

The introduction of square boxes and lids allows 900 rotations. Facilities managers also benefit from more flexibility during office redesigns. Deeper back boxes, adjustable module and device-tray heights help achieve increased plug-top space. Increased wiring space for Cat 6 compatibility aims to minimalise cables’ bend radii.

For the contractor, a number of design advances including quick-release blades for 10-second tool-less fitting have reduced installation time.
