REMPLOY, THE LEADING provider of employment for disabled people, has taken over the day-to-day management of CCTV monitoring services for the control room which covers Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge and Malling borough councils.
These two Kent councils are the latest of a growing number of local authorities to select Remploy to manage CCTV monitoring in town and city centre – currently around 40.

Community affairs spokesman Cllr Peter Davies said: "We are impressed with Remploy's reputation and willingness to adapt its services to our requirements.

"Their appointment will allow us to provide even better services for our residents and visitors in keeping town centres safe."

Tom Smith, manager of Remploy's UK CCTV services, added: "More and more local authorities are turning to us and we are becoming the partner of choice for town monitoring."

  • Tavcom Training has responded to industry demands by introducing a structured vocational training path for control room operations personnel.

By bringing in new content to existing courses, Tavcom offers a clearly-defined and co-ordinated training 'ladder', which will encourage all control room employees to enhance their skills and improve their prospects of advancement.

  • Tavcom has also appointed Roger Heap as technical manager. Heap is a highly experienced engineer who has been servicing and maintaining CCTV, intruder alarm, access control and fire prevention equipment for the past 25 years.
