2:00PM QS Stace and project manager Arup amongst those chosen for Wave 1 of the Greenwich BSF scheme

The team for the £170m Greenwich BSF programme has been revealed to include Stace and Arup. BDP Engineering will carry out the full engineering design for the five schools that form Wave 1 of the Greenwich Building Schools for the Future programme.

The firm’s civil and structural engineering director, Michelle McDowell said: “This is one of the largest single engineering contracts ever awarded under the BSF programme.”

The environmental and structural engineering group of BDP will collaborate with architects, Hawkins Brown, Cube-Design, John McAslan, Nicholas Hare and Architecture plb on the £170m project.

BDP environmental engineering director, Andrew Swain-Smith said: “This provides a fantastic opportunity to develop low energy sustainable schools across the whole of the Greenwich borough.”

Work is expected to start on site in July 2007, with the aim of completing three schools by late 2009 and the remainder in May 2010.
