A gloucester tenants’ group is to fold because of a shortage of tenant activists.

Gloucester Tenants’ Federation will close its doors in January after 15 years of representing residents of council homes.

Its three staff will be laid off.

The decision follows a survey of the city’s council tenants and a best value review required by Gloucester council, which gives GTF £93,000 a year. GTF manager Anne Williams said it would have been dishonest to continue with so few tenants volunteering.
