Alarm manufacturer Texecom Limited has been acquired by safety, health and sensor technology group Halma for £26m.

Texecom joins Halma's Fire and Security Division, headed by Neil Quinn as Divisional Chief Executive.

Texecom will continue to run as an autonomous company within the group, with its own resources and management, under the direction of Bob Austen as managing director and with Quinn as chairman.

"Texecom's growth will continue to be driven by the development of technically innovative new products and we are very excited by the huge opportunities that this acquisition brings, both to Texecom and to Halma's Fire and Security Division.
