Samantha Hubbard has won the 2000 Young Woman Engineer of the Year Award.
Samantha, 27, from West Kirby is employed as an instrumentation/electrical technician by the Shotton Paper Company in Flintshire. As part of her apprenticeship she has achieved NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3 in basic engineering and engineering maintenance.

Her prize of £1000 and a silver rose bowl was awarded by Lord Sainsbury of Turville at the RSA, London on 17 January. Samantha described the award as "an amazing thing to be able to put on my cv".
