Orchard Conservatories, the installation arm of domestic fabricators Budget Windows, has installed a substantial swimming pool enclosure using Synseal’s SynerJy and Global systems.

‘The 18 metre by 10 metre P-shaped conservatory covers a swimming pool as well as giving the owners a changing area, sauna and relaxation zone,’ explains Paul Callaghan, Head of Production for Orchard Conservatories. ‘The building replaced a self-supporting steel fabricated lean-to. The conservatory now gives direct access from the house.

‘The project has been installed around the customers continuing to use the pool. The base was built first, then the walls and the SynerJy windows and doors installed. And finally, the Global roof.

‘The roof had to follow the line of the gable on the bungalow. It’s a steep roof but following the lines ties the two structures together. The roof has a portal frame – and there’s no room for error on a project of this size – just a couple of millimetres out on each frame could cause a massive problem. That’s why we were meticulous with our measurements, and checked and double checked every step of the way. And all our hard work paid off; the finished building is perfect.’
