The hell of high water: Social housing tenants in Chertsey, Surrey, were among those forced to leave their homes on Friday after massive floods. More than 50 homes in Chertsey had to be evacuated. The floods have forced registered social landlords across the country to take action – among them, Windsor Housing Association, which gave a temporary home to an elderly resident of Wraysbury, Berkshire, after her home was badly damaged. The disabled woman is now staying in a spare sheltered flat.
