The sandwich made me

I support Chris Blythe’s view on sandwich courses (‘News and Views’, April). It was the best thing I ever did, as having 15 months’ practical experience with a contractor gave me a whole new attitude to studying for the final year of the course, along with a better insight of how things are done in the real world and not in text books. I also reduced my debts making the final year easier on my wallet - I didn’t have to worry too much about student loans!
