The Facilities Business has won the 2001 BIFM Media Award for the MITIE Press Prize, presented at the institute's gala dinner and industry awards ceremony on Wednesday.
The award was presented to TheFB's editor Kate Lowe by MITIE director Roger Goodman.

The judges said the magazine had brought, 'a new sense of urgency to the facilities management sector,' setting 'a new standard of immediacy and relevance.'

Describing TheFB as 'an excellent and high quality publication,' the judges said the news section was 'busy, pithy and easily accessible' and the features section written 'in a style and quality that could easily fit into national newspaper supplements.'

The BIFM Media Award was one of twelve awards presented to professionals from the facilities industry.

TheFB has also been shortlisted by the publishing industry's lead body, the PPA, for the 2001 Subscription Magazine of the Year Award, reflecting the rapid growth in the number of registered readers.
