Composite door manufacturer Sentinel Doors, has been bought out by Ohio company Therma-Tru Doors – now part of Fortune Brands – for an undisclosed sum, likely to have reached eight figures. The US company said the acquisition was to accelerate its growth in the UK. Sentinel, with annual turnover of £13.6m, was founded in 1995, and has been successful in winning contracts with housing associations across the UK. Around 90% of the company's market is in the social housing sector.
