The facilities team at Bristol International Airport has just completed a project to upgrade the site’s perimeter protection regime thanks to 2.5 miles of high security fencing supplied and installed by Procter Fencing Systems.

Perimeter protection

The existing chain-link fence was removed in sections to allow a trench to be excavated such that the new fencing could be positioned 0.5 metres from the line of the old fencing set-up.

The new fence is 2.4 metres high, and extends below ground level. Two types of fencing are installed in different areas of the airport. The first has three rows of barbed wire, while the second has two rows of barbed wire in front as well as two rows of razor wire.
