INDUSTRY STALWART TIM GEDDES has been appointed as Chairman of the Security Industry Training Organisation, replacing David Cowden, who stands down.
Mr Geddes is a Director of Yeoman Monitoring Services and is current Chairman of the BSIA (until July).

Mr Geddes commented: "I am keen to use the expertise I have gained in my career in the security industry to enhance SITO. I feel that partnership and co-operation are the key to the ethos of the organisation and I look forward to helping SITO respond to the needs of a changing industry.

"SITO must be able to react to an increasingly competitive market and, as we wish to be recognised as the training adviser, influencer and provider of choice, it is important to maintain the high profile and standards that we have established."

SITO Director Stefan Hay said Geddes' appointment would be an invaluable addition to the organisation. "He brings with him a wealth of experience that includes his chairmanship of the BSIA and his knowledge of the Security Systems sector."
