Not content with winning national security awards for their crime-busting work for Corby Borough Council in Northants, The Corps’ five-strong CCTV team has achieved a ‘first’ in the academic world.
All five have taken and passed the Advanced Security Officer Award together – with two earning distinctions. The group achievement was the result of much time spent studying, testing each other and sitting The Corps’ mock exams.

“Qualifications like this are essential to the reputation of the security industry, but it takes enormous personal commitment to go through the learning and exam process,” said group managing director Francis Peck. “To see a whole team pass at the same time sets a whole new standard for the future.”

Since The Corps took responsibility for monitoring at Corby, handling the area’s major CCTV installation, the crime rate is substantially down and the detection rate is well up. The expert operators – all members of The Corps – work in close partnership with the police and other emergency services.
