Haden YoungThe company broke the mould by working in partnership with Liverpool Community College to establish its own purpose-built course for student building services engineers. 2001 was a record year for Haden Young, with 18 graduating student engineers. The partnership with Liverpool College has raised the standards and provided the company with more than 40 qualified engineers, with a further 60 currently studying for their Higher National Diploma. This organisation has enjoyed considerable success over recent years with Investors in People ISO 9000 and ISO 14001. In order to build on this, Powerminster invested in a training facility of its own, which would provide a broad spectrum of training. The facility has already trained almost 200 employees in various aspects of health, safety and gas training in a few months. Parsons Brinckerhoff
The Parsons Brinckerhoff Built Environment training scheme is aimed at fulfilling the professional chartered institutions' accredited training requirements. Graduates work towards chartered status, then either follow the commercial project management route, or a professional excellence route. The training includes mock presentations with feedback and a programme of work to comply with PBBE's accreditation scheme.
