Tremco, a wholly owned subsidiary of RPM International Inc., announces that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the pan-European illbruck Sealant Systems businesses from the Illbruck family. illbruck’s UK based businesses produce the Alfas, Webbseal, Seal-it and Compribrand product ranges.
illbruck Sealant Systems, based in Leverkusen, Germany, is a leading European developer, manufacturer and distributor of value-added sealant systems for the building industry. The businesses generate annual revenue in excess of Euro 160 million, and employ more than 700 people.
Upon completion of the transaction, illbruck Sealant Systems would become a part of the global Tremco Group of companies. The European Tremco-illbruck operations will be under the leadership of Reiner Eisenhut, illbruck’s Managing Director. ‘We believe joining the Tremco family will offer us opportunities to grow our business that otherwise would be unavailable to us,’ said Eisenhut. ‘In addition to making strategic sense, we believe that Tremco and illbruck will be a good fit from a cultural standpoint.’
