Professionals from companies including Turner and Townsend, Arup and Rise shortlisted for inaugral award

Seven inspirational women have been shortlisted for Building’s Woman of the Year award, a new award designed to recognise and promote the achievements of women working in construction.

The shortlisted women are:

Nazma Uddin – Consultant, Rise Management Consulting

Caroline Buckingham – Director, HLM Architects

Jen Bousfield – Associate, Arup

Julie Wood, - Global Leader for Programme and Project Management , Arup

Siobhan McMahon-Walsh – Director, Emerald Architects

Julia Lydell – Senior Cost Manager, Turner & Townsend

Kate Corrigan – Director, Turner & Townsend

The winner of the award will be revealed at the 2015 Building Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House in April.

The Woman of the Year is a new category this year, launched as part of the magazine’s Building Better Balance campaign to promote diversity in construction, and is sponsored by Aecom.
